Mazda gave its high-end sports car flagship several exciting updates for 2020. These updates include a newly designed keyfob, a new look for its exterior and interior, and also an updated badging style.

Engine, Performance, and Transmission

The Mazda Miata comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and packs a respectable 181 horsepower with 151 lbs of torque. Don’t let these low HP numbers fool you because, with an extremely light curb weight of 2403 lbs, it can get you from 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds.

It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with the option of a manual version if you choose. This car’s drive-train is rear-wheel drive and comes with wheel sizes between 16 x 6.5 and 17 x7. These wheel sizes depend on which trim you choose.

Mazda also additional packages you can choose to have installed on any of the trim models. For an additional cost, you can have even more luxury and better performance. Here are some of the additional add-on packages available.

Interior Package – Alloy pedals, stainless steel trim accents, soul red engine oil cap with the MX-5 logo on it.

Appearance Package – Side sill extensions, Brilliant black rear lip spoiler, Rear accented bumper skirt, front air dam, chrome accents.

Recaro/Brembo Package – Gunmetal 17 inch wheels, Red Painted Front Brembo Brakes with upgraded calipers, heated Recaro sport seats, Aero kit, and upgraded side sill extensions and sport styling bumper skirt.

Entertainment and Connectivity

The Miata comes standard with a touchscreen infotainment system that allows you to control most of the comfort and entertainment functions of the car. Miata comes standard with Bluetooth so you can have phone calls and audio controls from your phone as well as a CD player.

Navigation is available on the Grand Touring model, and all trims come equipped with HD radio and a 3-months subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio.

Warranty Coverage

The Miata comes with a standard limited warranty. Check with your 2020 Mazda Miata dealer if there is any additional coverage when you purchase. 

The manufacturer’s warranty includes:

  • Limited warranty which covers three years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first)
  • Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first)

Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn’t cover roadside assistance or complimentary scheduled maintenance.
