After Grenading two rear ends in the Camaro (1 being a brand new Zexel Torsen unit, while the other was a brand new Eaton Posi unit) I decided that enough was enough with these weak 7.5 rear ends. I felt that a Ford 9″ and a 12 bolt rear end were overkill for my application, not to mention the extra weight that both hold over the Ford 8.8 rear end. So I picked me up some custom guts for the Ford 8.8 and this was the outcome

Did you have to weld on the spring platform and shock mount to the 8.8 rear end?
My guy actually welded the camaro tubes into the Ford 8.8 tubes so that I could reuse all the existing camaro brackets. He took all the measurements and did a phenomenal job and the rear end is now holding up well in my LS1 as well years later.
Would like to know who your guy is, as im looking to have an 8.8 set up lije what you have.
I can’t find anyone in my area willing to do this.
Any information would be great.
Thanks
What all did you have to use to do this complete swap I have went through 2 7.5 rears myself, I was thinking of going 12 bolt but I rather do the 8.8 rear!
The way I had my rear end built, it was a direct swap. I did need to purchase an adjustable torque arm though as the factory one rested on the tunnel when all was said and done due to a minor offset of the mount location
