LS1 Camaro Build

Close to the end of summer in 2013 I picked up what will be my 3rd Camaro / F-body that I have owned and essentially worked on. This time I have moved from the very strong and stout GM 3800 engine up to the notoriously feared LS1 motor.

If you have followed any of my previous builds, you will know that my 3.8L powered Camaro was the fastest all motor N/A v6 F-body in Canada (build info here). While I managed to take that record with the v6, it’s not enough- I’ll be looking to claim that same title with the LS1 I have now. It is going to be a lot of fun applying everything I learned over the years from the v6 to the LS1, I mean, working with absolutely nothing, on a shoe string budget pulling every last string to achieve success.

I’m already financially a step ahead of the game considering the 2002 Camaro’s come stock with an LS6 intake bolted to them.

If you are interested in following our progress in our quest to take the Fastest N/A LS1 F-body “bolt on only” Canadian record – make sure you check out our racing videos page. We’ll be looking to turn 11’s before eventually adding a cam to this beast.

There will be a ton of research to do in order to make a proper wish list, but that will all be effected by how she performs in the Spring of 2017. Once I get a handle on where my weak spots are, I can better plan for the future.
